    1. Hey Donna,

      I have been using Thesis Theme since last two years and now shifted to my new theme. So I had to transfer the SEO settings manually. People can use the SEO data transporter but it doesn’t support the latest version of Thesis.

      I hope the people who are seeking for the right way can read this article.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Have a great day.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Ravi.

    Honestly, I didn’t on Thesis theme, but it’s to learn what I don’t know.

    As what Donna said in above comment, many bloggers are using Thesis theme and they will be impressed by the article. Nevertheless, you’ll be on the top of SEO topic

    Keep going your great work.

    1. Hey Kimsea,

      Thesis platform is like the Genesis. But the only difference is that Thesis themes have their inbuilt SEO and you don’t need to use any SEO plugin. The theme will do the SEO.

      There are many HTML boxes to adjust the layout of the website. Basically, if you know a little bit of coding then you can customize the Thesis themes easily.

      When people switch to any other theme then they have to transfer the SEO data.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Have a nice day.

  3. That’s something great because most of the people uses either Thesis or Genesis Framework on their WordPress site.

    Transferring SEO settings using the way mentioned above is probably the best way to do the same.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hey Prakhar,

      You can use the SEO transporter for the older versions of the Thesis framework. But if are running the latest version then you have to shift the SEO data manually.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi Ravi,

    Thanks for sharing Jugad ?

    I am struggling with this as my thesis version is latest.

    Now there’s one issue with your suggestion, when I activate yoast I can’t see meta tags that I added earlier. So only option I can see is deactivate yoast, copy paste all meta tags to a note pad & then activate yoast copy paste. Too time consuming for 200+ posts- please let me know if you have any other suggestion.

    1. Hey Hemant,

      When you install Yoast SEO plugin, you don’t get any place to add the meta tags because their algorithm is for a focus keyword. But if you still want to use your Thesis meta tags, you can enable this option from the Yoast’s settings. Just navigate to “Titles and metas” and enable it. You will see the box under focus keyword section.

  5. Hi Ravi,

    I’m happy to copy and paste the data across but it’s June 2017 and when Yoast is activated Thesis wont show the old SEO data (Title, Description etc).

    There’s also no longer any plugin that can transfer them across (anymore).

    So do you have any ideas on what to do now? Or how to also make Thesis Title, Description show when Yoast is activated

    1. Hey Lara,

      There is only one method now. You have to pick up your notebook to note the SEO details while activating the Thesis and then paste those into the Yoast SEO plugin.

      A little bit of manual work is required.

      1. Hi Ravi,

        I found a way!

        In case it helps anyone else, you can turn back ON the thesis SEO to easily copy and paste it.

        Go to /wp-content/themes/thesis/thesis.php

        change:

        $this->wpseo = defined(‘WPSEO_VERSION’) ? true : false;

        change to:

        $this->wpseo = false;

        //defined(‘WPSEO_VERSION’) ? true : false;

        This will SHOW both Yoast and Thesis SEO.

        Then just go back turn off the Thesis one / go back to the original file.

        Hope that helps ?
